# Growth Mode

Growth Mode is a special setting that HIP-3 deployers can activate to bootstrap new markets.\
When Growth Mode is active, trading becomes dramatically cheaper for users because HIP-3 markets apply at least a 90% reduction to:

* protocol fees
* maker rebates
* volume contributions

Growth Mode can be activated per asset, and like all HIP-3 deployer actions, it is permissionless.

This mode is designed to accelerate early market adoption and make new HIP-3 perp markets significantly more accessible for traders.

### **How Growth Mode Works**

When a deployer enables Growth Mode for an HIP-3 market:

#### **1. User trading fees drop by ≥90%**

The taker fee baseline becomes:

* 0.0045% to 0.009% for non aligned collateral
* 0.0036% to 0.0081% for aligned collateral

This is roughly 5 to 10 times cheaper than normal validator operated perps.

#### **2. Maker rebates and volume contributions are reduced by ≥90%**

Markets in Growth Mode are designed for low fee trading, not for earning rebates or climbing tiers quickly.

#### **3. Normal Hyperliquid discounts still apply**

Growth Mode stacks with:

* HYPE staking fee discounts
* Referral based fee reductions
* Aligned stablecoin benefits

#### **4. Deployer fee scale must be between 0 and 1 in Growth Mode**

This means deployers can keep between 0% and 100%  of the protocol fee portion.\
For this documentation we assume the default fee share: 100% , which is the standard HIP-3 setup.

#### **5. HIP-3 Growth Mode does not apply to crypto perps or any market overlapping validator operated perps**

It is limited to non crypto, non overlapping, novel markets.
